Our Programs
What should I expect in a Deep TMS session?
Deep TMS is administered by qualified health practitioners at Brain Health for Advanced Depression Treatments (CADT) by our providers and a certified technician.
During a Deep TMS treatment session, the magnetic coil, fitted into a helmet, is secured snugly to the patient’s head. Patients will hear a clicking sound and feel a tapping sensation on the scalp.
How Treatment Begins
At the beginning of treatment, each patient’s brain is “mapped” by Brain Health’s Shannon Bruey, APRN using the TMS device. This is a painless process. Mapping effectively locates the targeted area for treatment and the dose needed. Once these parameters are determined, treatment is given daily, Monday-Friday. Each daily treatment lasts approximately 20 minutes; treatment is usually completed over 6-9 weeks.
Deep TMS does not involve any anesthesia or sedation, and patients remain awake and alert during each treatment. You can rest in a comfortable chair, read, watch TV, check your social media, etc all while you receive the treatment. Deep TMS is associated with few side effects, the most common being mild scalp discomfort during treatment. Patients can drive themselves to and from appointments and continue with daily activities without medication.
We ask that you provide patient contact information, a list of previously tried and failed treatments, as well as diagnosis and any medical issues you may feel would impact treatment. Progress notes are always appreciated.
Medication Management
Medication management is helpful in treating behavioral health disorders because it can help to stabilize mood, reduce anxiety, and improve focus and concentration. It is important to remember that medication management is not a “cure” for mental illness but can be an essential part of treatment. We deliver next-level care for patients whose depression has not responded to medication or psychotherapy, offering relief through a new, non-invasive treatment that is FDA approved for treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (MDD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) bipolar disorders, smoking, and addictive disorders.
